Employers are supposed to be able to motivate their employees but sometimes no matter what they do you can feel your motivation slipping so here are some tips on how to motivate yourself. In the book The Antidote: Happiness for People Who Can’t Stand Positive Thinking, the authors state that one of the biggest issues with motivation is emotion. When you are in a bad mood, you are more likely to procrastinate which is why one of the main tips for motivation is for you to get positive. If you are able to think more positive and optimistic thoughts, it will help you stop seeking out fun distractions in order to make you feel better. The third and final tip is peer pressure, try to surround yourself with people who are organised and are able to motivate themselves, this ideally should be your some of your co-workers. If you are able to do these three steps, you should find yourself being motivated to do your work as soon as you get it.
